Check your APN Settings

If you've recently updated software or firmware your settings may have changed!

We've noticed that certain mobile devices revert to old or default APN settings after a firmware or operating system update, so please make sure that your APN is still set to afrihost, and not myMTN (or another setting). If your settings look correct, please hit the button below to make 100% sure that you are on our data network. If the page does not give you a Success message, please double check your device setup using the instructions below.

How to setup your device

Select your Operating System and follow the easy steps below.

iPhone iOS9

  1. Click on the Settings icon.

  2. In the settings menu select Mobile.

  3. Select Mobile Data Network.

  4. Under the Mobile Data grouping, enter afrihost into the APN field*.

iPad iOS9

  1. Click on the Settings icon.

  2. In the settings menu select Cellular Data.

  3. Select APN Settings.

  4. Enter afrihost into the APN field*.

* IMPORTANT: Ensure all letters are lowercase and there are NO spaces before or after 'afrihost'.

 
 

Android L or M

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Select Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.

  3. Click on the Plus (+) button to create a new APN.

  4. Enter afrihost into the Name and APN fields.

  5. Click on the More button.

  6. Select Save.

* IMPORTANT: Ensure all letters are lowercase and there are NO spaces before or after 'afrihost'.

 
 

Windows Phone 10

  1. In the App list, select the Settings icon.

  2. Select Network & Internet.

  3. Select Add Internet APN.

  4. Enter afrihost into the APN field*.

  5. Select Save.

Blackberry v4-6

  1. Select Settings > Options.

  2. Complete one of the following:
    – V4.0 or earlier, click TCP/IP.
    – V4.1-5.0, click Advanced Options > TCP/IP.
    – V6.0, click Device > Advanced System Settings > TCP/IP

  3. Enter afrihost into the APN field*.

  4. Press the Menu Key.

  5. Select Save.

Blackberry v10

  1. From the Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.

  2. Tap Settings to access System Settings.

  3. Go to Network Connections > Mobile Network > APN.

  4. Enter afrihost into the Name and APN fields*.

  5. Select Save.

Nokia Symbian Belle

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity.

  2. In the Connectivity menu, select Settings > Destinations.

  3. Select the Access Point in use.

  4. Click on the Access Point Name and enter afrihost into the Name and APN fields*.

  5. Click Options and Save.
